The COVID-19 virus can persist in the air and on surfaces for hours, if not days, according to a new study performed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CDC, UCLA and Princeton University.

Sanitizing and Disinfection

We’ve heard these terms for years, but with the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 (Corona Virus), these words have taken on new importance in their meaning. Schmidt Exterior Cleaning is a trusted name and a fixture in Wisconsin for years. During that time we have cleaned and sanitized many properties. Disinfection and sanitizing has been a normal part of our business; we clean, sanitize and disinfect to the proper specifications as set forth by the Center for Disease Control.

Did you know there is a distinction between Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting?

There is according to the CDC website!

CLEANING: this process removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects. This process does not necessarily kill germs, but by removing them it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.

SANITIZING: This lowers the number of germs on surfaces to a safe level as judged by public health standards

DISINFECTING: kills germs on surfaces. Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kills germs on surfaces or objects. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces, but by killing germs it can lower the risk of spreading infection.
